This cardigan is stunning. It's a muted mustard yellow wool cardigan with cutouts - an adorable patterned design on the shoulders, back, and near the neck.
It may have been a girl's cardigan, but more than likely, it belonged to a very petite woman with small measurements.
Because of the no-label issue, I'm trying to date it based on design as well as the buttons. From experience, the design looks 1950s but has a bit of a throwback look to the 1940s (which I adore.)
The buttons look to be the 1950s to 1960s, but because of the cut, I'm leaning toward the '50s.
I'm not a professional seamstress, nor do I know buttons as well as I should, so my expertise is based on the research I've done on previous sweaters over the years.
Again, I love sweaters. They are literally the bane of my existence because I want ALL the sweaters I list in my shop. But alas, this one is too small for me. Best fits a petite lady.
If you're looking for an ultra-feminine '40s style (but probably made in the '50s) lightweight wool cardigan, (without any blemishes to note) this little number may be just what you want.
This sweater is so lightweight and soft that it can easily work layered for the winter months or for the spring and fall months as well.
The color is mid-century perfect.
