Vintage YSL for Dior Green Dress │ St. Patty's Day Couture Dress

A dress on a form from 1960s designed by YSL

If you haven't been to the Vintage Fashion Guild website, it is a wealth of vintage information. I reference them all the time whether it's dating a piece of vintage I'm wearing or selling, or mentioning them here as a way to expand your vintage knowledge. They're on Facebook and other social media as well.

I came across a recent post of theirs. It's a crazy but fabulous dress by Yves Saint Laurent for Christian Dior, called "Salade" made in 1960. It's made of silk taffeta.

Okay, I had no idea YSL created something for Dior! That's humility in action for both designers. What a collaboration between two couture icons.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd share this beautiful green dress. While I'm not sure I could get away with wearing something so puffy, it is a remarkable piece of design.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
